An AI assistant on WhatsApp or Telegram, without running a server

You can have an AI assistant that works in the chat app you already use, with nothing to install or host. What to look for and what to avoid.

Most people who want an AI assistant for work do not want a project. They want to send a message and get the thing done, in the app they already have open. WhatsApp and Telegram are where small businesses already talk to customers and suppliers, so that is where an assistant earns its place. (If you came looking for ChatGPT on WhatsApp, it left on January 15, 2026: here is what happened.)

Why chat beats another app

  • Nothing to install and no new account to remember.
  • It works from your phone, on the road, between customers.
  • You can forward a photo, a voice note or a spreadsheet and ask for something specific.

What to look for

  • Real output. A reply is not a deliverable. Look for an assistant that produces a website, a deck, a spreadsheet with working formulas or a report you can download and keep.
  • Memory of your business. It should remember how you work, your preferences and what you tried before, across weeks.
  • Honest disagreement. An assistant that agrees with every idea is not much of an adviser.
  • Clear costs. Know what you pay for the assistant and what you pay for the AI models behind it.
  • Private keys. If you bring your own API keys, they should never go through the chat.

What to avoid

  • A self-hosted agent you have to patch and secure yourself, unless you want that job.
  • Plans where model credits burn while nothing is happening.
  • Anything that asks you to paste a secret into a message.

A managed option

SuperCat works this way: you message it on WhatsApp or Telegram, it learns your business, and it makes software, reports, presentations and videos that fit it. If you already pay AI providers, bring your own keys for $2 a month in early access, so you keep a direct view of your model bill.
